What you should/might keep in the change bag:

When buying a change bag consider your lifestyle.

  • If you have a nanny – nothing is a problem
  • If you have an au pair – get something a little robust, dark coloured.
  • If you have neither nanny nor au pair then select a sensible roomy change bag.
  • If you have more than one child, get the biggest bag you can manage.
  • If you have a baby carrier, use a rucksack
  • If you are very organised select a slim snazzy change bag
  • If you dash in and out of the car than maybe a simple clutch change bag will do
  • If you cannot manage 2 bags, then buy a mini mummy bag for your own personal things and keep in the baby change bag.
  • Whichever change bag you choose check it has loads of pockets, zips, storage sections, and the important change mat.

Other good points to think about

The baby’s change bag ideally should be easy to keep clean.

A great extra is an Onya parachute silk bag. They are the size of a tiny purse and fold out for either a side bag or carrier bag. Great for all the extra bits of shopping or debris you collect during the day out.

If you invest in the ‘to die for change bag’ consider if it can later be used for the weekend bag or the beach bag.

Black is the fashion colour for Winter 2007 – but baby land is also so lovely you can consider other colours too!

Famous names are not so applicable for change bags. Designer names are there of course but it is better to go for the more trusted names such as OiOi, BabyBjorn ,
Samsonite, Onya.

Having a baby brings a lot of changes but it doesn't mean you have to change your style. It just means you have extra kit to carry around when you go out.
